Purpose: criminal
Base of Operations: mobile
History: In 1986, Madame Mammoth decided to form a criminal organization of super-powered members in hopes to achieve greater success than she had formerly had working solo or with her lackeys, the Highrollers. In talking with Prince Pyro, the two cemented the idea and took about to recruiting the original roster. During an early mission, one of the members, Ex-Plosive, was captured and jailed. A few months later, his spot was filled by the shape-weapon wielding Geometric Man after a bit of a test.
The Octagon gained infamy as a group when they murdered Star Light, one of the founders of the Justice Gang. The villain team then fought the Protectors who managed to bring half of the team to justice. Madame Mammoth and three others escaped and decided to abandon the Octagon name, taking on the new title of the Evil Elite.
In 1993, Timewarp decided to resurrect the team name and eight member concept. He was able to convince former members Shadow Dancer and Geometric Man to join his cause. He then set to task of filling the remaining five slots with powerful members. A goal of this second line-up of the team was to exact revenge against Mammoth and her group.
