Background: While working near a roaring blast furnace, steel worker Harry Hobard was careless while feeding the fires. The flames surged, engulfing his clothes. His co-worker hurriedly tried to help Harry put out the flame and paramedics soon came to rush him to the hospital. But, to their surprise, the man was unscathed.
Over the next few days, Harry found he could recreate the white hot intesity of the fires at will. He showed off this new talent at a local bar, and the tabloids soon caught wind of him. His name and face were blastered all over. But the fame left as quickly as it came as the tabloids moved on to the next flavor of the month. Harry then was fired from his job at the steel plant due to all the negative press Harry had brought upon them. Harry sought an answer to why he was given this power and concluded it was by some divine right. Most likely, though, the accident triggered his latent meta-gene. Harry decided to dub himself "Prince Pyro" and set out to become the royal monarch of crime. It wasn't long after that he met Madame Mammoth, who in turn made him a founding member of the Octagon. Even when that organization crumbled, Prince Pyro decided to stick with these allies when they became the Evil Elite.
Motivation: Pyro is very arrogant and pompus. He is also calculating and merciless. In battle, he carries an air of confidance, proclaiming his greatness as he takes on energy blasts with little fear. He'll often retaliate with raging blasts of fire. He believes himself as royalty and expects to be treated accordingly. He seeks a woman worthy to be his princess and is drawn to great beauties. |
