Background: Morga Calnar was in her late teens, by Earth standards, when her father Xanis and she were captured by the conqueoring alien race known as the Destroyers (3/62). With their homeworld destroyed by said race, the two were made slaves on a mining asteroid. It was during that time that Morga unearthed a strange sapphire-like gem (9/63). She kept it hidden, a piece of beauty in an otherwise miserable life, and eventually discovered a bond of sorts to it.
Months passed before the Calnars and two other allies of theirs had an opportunity to put an escape plan in motion. The four managed to escape their captors during a prisoner transport, fleeing to the nearest habitable system they could find. They ended up on Earth (2/65). After a year of adjusting to their new home and taking on more Earth-like sounding names, the four took on heroic identities (2/66). Morga used her gem stone which gave her amazing powers and was dubbed by the media 'Star Light'. Her father became known as Space Lord, and the other two became known as Man-Wolf and Robotman. With other heroes of Earth, they formed the core of the Justice Gang(10/68). Morga also realized that she was falling in love with Roebrt Waeston (Robotman). A year later, the Destroyers learned of these heroes of Earth and recognized the quartet who had escaped their grasps. They prepared their first of many attacks upon the Earth, but the new heroic team was able to turn them back. Morga was heartbroken when Roebrt returned to his homeworld Xarvius rather suddenly (5/75). He was called there to help reorganize the world's troubled government. She would not see him again for nearly three years, when he called his old allies to help Xarvius. Roebrt ended up being exiled in order to save the population from holocaust (1/78). Reunited with her love, Morga then had to introduce him to their son Jonah, who was conceived shortly before he departed and was born in 1977. A month later, the two were wed (2/78) and not even an attack by one of the team's enemies could put a damper on the day. (continued below...) |

In battle a few years later with the Sinister Spectrum, Star Light learned that her own gemstone was very similar in nature to his (7/83). She never got around to exploring that link further.
Star Light was killed in battle a few years later, when a super-villain team called the Octagon ambushed her enmasse in order to make a name for themselves. Her funeral, attended by many super-heroes, was held sometime thereafter in the Justice Gang's satellite headquarters. Her power gem was eventually recovered and was kept in the possession of her son Jonah.
Motivation: Having lost her mother and so many friends when her homeworld was destroyed, Star Light always held a strong, protective bond with those around her. Her teammates in many ways were like a family to her. Also, the many years of captivity by the Destroyers made her have a strong appreciation for freedom. As fierce a warrior as she was, she also had a compassionate and artistic side. She loved learning about other cultures through their paintings, sculpture and architecture.
