World of Maenza: Online Issue #16

Welcome back for another issue of my online zine dealing with the Champions RPG and my game creations. I've got another jam-packed issue for you this go round so let's get right to it!

  • In the main WOM fiction section, we're continuing the story from last issues' tales of the Protectors. This time it is a WOM Spotlight tale. Enjoy "Bird in a Gilded Cage".

  • And to go with the story, I have a character sheet for the star of the tale - Night Owl (II) (standard warnings apply - read the stories first!).

  • And since it was so well received last issue, the Protectors cover gallery gets another piece. This was a planned Protectors cover I originally whipped up back in 1983 (but, I've since lost the envelope with all the miscellaneous art I did over the years for the APAs, so I had to recreate it again from scratch) that is perfect for this issue's story. You'll find it at the bottom of the Gallery. It owes a lot to a cover from Alpha Flight by John Byrne, a book that came out around the time I was doing my original Protectors stories back in high school.

  • Returning to Lodestone and the Omniverse for the fifth issue in a row, I have another all-new Lodestone story on that fiction page called "Foxy Lady"! If that title has a retro sound to it, you'll see why when you read the story.

  • To go along with that story, there is a new entry on the Victoria Heroes page. Checkout the picture for the Gray Fox.

  • Oh, and did you notice the background color changes on those Victoria pages? I actually got inspired last month to revisit, revamp and add-on-to all of the Victoria pages. So, if it has been awhile, use the controls to the right of that page to check out all the details on the city's history, climate, media, commerce, points of interest and such. I hope to add more to it in the coming months in preparation for the 10th Anniversary of the Omniverse Online coming in February of 2008.
