World of Maenza: Online Issue #15

Welcome back for another issue of my online zine dealing with the Champions RPG and my game creations. The magic number seems to be "seventeen" this go-round. Here's why:

  • In the main WOM fiction section, back by popular demand are the Protectors. Issue 17 of their series is a revision of a partially finished issue I did back in 1983. Enjoy "Enter: the Assassin". And, just so I don't leave you hanging too long, an all-new issue 18 is here too: "To Find a Killer".

  • To go with these stories, I have a character sheet for the Assassin (standard warnings apply - read the stories first!).

  • Returning to Lodestone and the Omniverse for the fourth issue in a row, I have another all-new Lodestone fiction piece called "I Know What You Did Last Summer"! It happens to be her seventeenth "issue" as well. What a coincidence.

  • And, with the arrival of a new scanner in February (a birthday present from the wife), I decided to get into the Gallery experience (I couldn't let Mike and KC have all of the fun). So, this issue I've set up two different collections. The first is a revision/expansion on my previous Protectors cover gallery. These are compositions I personally did back in 1982 and 1983 to go with my original typed up Protectors tales. Be kind - I was just a high schooler back then and wasn't that good with art (I had good intentions though...).

  • The second collection is part of my Omniverse pages and devoted to artwork of Lodestone and others. What you will find here are pieces by Bill Jackson, Tim Watts, John Watkins-Choi, Erik Webb, former Times members Sable and John R. Jacobs, and some Poser pics by Charles Brown. These pieces rang from Lodestone's debut in the Times back in the late 90's up through the April 2007 CTO. I'll add more to this gallery when I get additional pieces.

  • And how does "17" fit into the galleries? I think there's about seventeen pieces regular readers haven't seen before (or seen recently). I might be off on the count, but its the thought that counts. Okay, all you 80's hair-band fans, cue up the Winger CD (you know you've got one - admit it) and get to checking things out!
