Background: When Stephen Brandon was born in the summer of 1963, he had no way of knowing what kind of shoes he would later be filling. His parents, Robert and Lisa Brandon, were the famed super-hero team of Tigerman and Tigerwoman. His father was a founding member of the Justice Gang and his mother joined the team for a few years as well in the late 70's. It was about that time, when Stephen was on the verge of becoming a teenager, that he learned about his parents' dual lives and the importance of maintaining that secret. Despite his insistence, his parents would not let him enter into the costumed world of crime fighting at that time.
Stephen dedicated himself to both his studies and increasing his physical prowess. When his parents retired from heroing in 1979, they too helped him with his training. By the time he graduated high school, he was at the top of his class academically as well as an accomplished acrobat and martial artist. Still, his parents insisted he attend college and establish himself before he considered taking up the family mantle. It was while attending college in 1983, where he studied photography, that Stephen had his first case as Tigerman II. Using skills he learned from his parents, he broke up a drug ring that had extended its influence onto the university campus. With his parents' blessing, he continued to where the mask of orange and black. Two years later, Tigerman II was invited to join the Justice Gang, a team who has been a regular member of since. Along the way, he has made his share of enemies - both from his solo exploits and his team adventures. Grid Iron and the Racoon are two of those from his former encounters. In the late 90's, he also had his first encounter with Tigerette, a costumed female who appears to be sort of a groupie of his. Despite his constant but gentle rejections of her, she continues to pursue him. Stephen did become romantically involved with Diana Kane (Amazon) after the two learned each other's secret identities while working on a case together. Stephen was instrumental in getting Diana and some of her friends from the the Protectors into the ranks of the Justice Gang when the Protectors disbanded in 1999. Motivation: From the day he learned his parents' secret, Stephen always wanted to follow in their footsteps. Hard work, complete dedication and a focused attitude helped him achieve that goal. Despite coming from a well to do family, he's always worked for what he wanted. He never took things for granted. Even when it came to joining the Justice Gang, he had the members put him to the test first. He didn't want membership just because his parents were members first. |
