History: On an alternate Earth, another hero team named the Protectors exists. They were formed when an alien warrior appeared on the streets of San Francisco, CA, and began to wreck havoc. Five heroes - Dr. Wraithe, Helios, Malesrom, Quasar and Silverfist - put a stop to the destruction. Aferwards, these champions formed a team named the Protectors.

Over the years, the roster changed with the addition of Ace, the Huntsman, Brainstorm, Renegade and Doc Sonic. Silverfist changed his name to Mandroid.
