Background: A man in his mid-twenties awoke in the recovery room of a Chicago hospital with tissue surgeon Mike McAllister looking down at him. "Mr. Stable, I have some bad news for you," the doctor said. "During the fire, your vocal cords were severed; you'll never be able to speak normally again." The patient remembered vaguely a fire in a home and clearly the image of the villain Lazer firing upon him. The home was completely destroyed, and there was no trace of anyone else in the fire. The man somehow escaped and was rushed to the hospital. Only a business card with "Eric Stable, criminologist" found in his coat pocket provided a clue to his identity. With no memory of anything else, this man had to assume he was in fact Eric Stable.
Stable spent months searching the Chicago area for any clue to his past. The home that was destroyed did indeed belong to an Eric Stable. The name, however, must have been some alias since no government records existed for the man. He spent the next few years trying to rebuild his life, restudying criminology, fighting techniques and weaponry. He then left Chicago behind to start a new life in a new city. His path led him to Baltimore. Stable concluded that the criminal Lazer might have a clue to the mystery. Therefore, Stable decided to take on crime in another method as well, taking on the identity of Silent Knight. It wasn't long before this new hero hooked up with two others to battle the Sinister Spectrum and to form Rough Justice. Motivation: Silent Knight typically enters the battle via his super leap, pouncing on his quarry. He will then attempt to disarm them of any weapons they might have and will use them himself against others in order to end the battle quickly. He uses boomerangs in only extreme cases against major opponents since they tend to be one-shot attacks, until recovered. Silent Knight is a very much a lone individual. Because he cannot speak and few people know sign language, he feels a bit isolated from the rest of the world. As a hero and a criminologist, he has a very strong sense of justice and respect for the law. He is dedicated to those individuals who are his friends for they are all of the family he has in the world. |
